Support & Education Groups
These weekly ongoing sessions help families deal with the day-to-day issues of parenting. Parents, grandparents and other caregivers meet in groups of 8-12 to discuss the challenges as well as joys of child rearing. Parents learn a variety of effective parenting methods from trained, parenting educators. They also get support from each other while they talk about the results of applying their new skills.
Musical Motion is an interactive playgroup for parents/caregivers and their children ages 0-5. Sessions focus on using creative activities to build preschooler's social skills and enhance brain development and early learning skills. Children's play incorporates props such as puppets, parachutes, and scarves, while parents learn about the Forty Developmental Assets, health, safety, and child development. They also trade information and parenting tips with other parents and experienced parenting educators.
Musical Motion is offered select mornings at locations throughout Manatee County. Musical Motion is offered in English and Spanish.
