FAMILY PARTNERSHIP CENTER IS MOVING AND NEEDS RELOCATION ASSISTANCE
February 28, 2012 - We are proud to announce that we have purchased a buliding located at 602 3rd St. E. in Bradenton and hope to relocate the center by March 30th. The purchase of the building has been a long term goal of FPC. We are thrilled and the prospect of the move with larger space to meet the needs of the communities we serve, but as with all relocatoin , we also face some challenges in getting the new space ready. Volunteers are desperately needed to help with construction, painting, plumbing, and electrical work. Volunteers will help keep labor costs low while preserving general funds for programs to directly help families. Skilled volunteers are asked to call us at 941-756-3007.
Donations are also needed to cover the cost of the renovations. FPC's fundraising goal for the building renovation is $45,000, with $20,000 of that to address preoccupancy needs, to date $5,600 in cash has been raised. Donations of the in-kind goods and services are also needed to reach the building fund goal. Area residents or businesses that can help with products, services or monetary donations are encouraged to contact us at 941-756-3007. Donations of all sizes are welcome. Donations may be made securely on our website.
Family Partnership Center is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization and your donations may be tax deductible to the fulles extend allowed by law. IRS guidelins for charitable contributions are available on IRS Publication 526 or by calling toll-free 1-800-829-1040 or check with your tax preparer for details.
We appreciate you partnering with us during this exciting season at FPC!
FAMILY PARTNERSHIP CENTER'S ANNUAL HOLIDAY ADOPTION PROGRAM A SUCCESS
Imagine you just got paid and your measly check barely covers the past due electric bill, half the rent and some rice and beans to feed your family until you get paid again. You anticipate the disappointment in your children's eyes on Christmas day when they will wake up to see there are no gifts from Santa. You try to figure out what you will say and how you will dry their tears.
With the help of individuals and businesses in our community, 80 families and 170 children received food and gifts this holiday season. The looks on the parents' faces when we brought wrapped presents and baskets of food was one of awe, overwhelming emotion, and relief. We heard many say, "I don't know why someone would do this for us." We responded, "Because you matter."
Imagine being in one of their homes on Christmas morning as the children run to see what Santa has brought just for them.
We sincerely thank all who participated in our Holiday Adoptions this year! May your Holidays be filled with joy and love.
